The holidays are a time when many children in under-resourced communities have very little stimulation and boredom takes over. This leads children into potential dangerous situations as parents are working and the structure and protection that the schools offer during the year is not available.
The aim of the Creative Holiday Program is to offer a safe but stimulating space for children in the holidays. The program is a collaborative program that pulls on local recourses. We offer workshops at a local venue such as the community hall or a church for children aged 5 to 13.
In the workshops we offer a variety of creative activities including beading, printing, painting, and crafting, dancing, puppet making and puppet shows, dance and free movement sessions, Yoga, drumming, pottery,make-up art, creative writing, reading and storytelling.
